One of the characteristics I love the most in human beings is the capacity of building whatever they’ve imagined. Creating something is probably the most mind stimulating thing I recall. And we’re always creating something!
But today I want to talk about the big creations. The ones we are devoted to, the ones which occupy our mind all the time and won’t let us sleep at night, the ones that make us forget about everything else.
We put so much time, effort and love in such creations… But then… something happens and they no longer suit us or we can’t finish them or we’re forced to abandon them.
So we leave… And we try to forget them; we try to forget that part of us. We try to believe they no longer exist to deceive the pain. We close their memory in that dark corner of our mind and hope it will dissolve with time and disappear.
But that never happens. Not when you use your dreams as glue. So you can grab a baseball bat and try to destroy them yourself but you’ll soon realize it’s worthless.
Those solid ruins will always exist in that forgotten place of yours and when nostalgia drags you there you’ll smile and cry at the same time.
I’m in that point where I find it difficult to decide if I should keep something (very important to me) I’ve been working on for some time now and try to finish it or if I should leave it (because I feel I’m just wasting my time). Well… Life’s a journey and I’ll figure it out some day.

Very nice photo. I really like the perspective you have taken. It seems to give a more spiritual aspect to the whole scene. Wonderful capture of human made structure lost in the middle of nature.

About the personal issue. I would suggest that you consider one aspect. does it make you a better person or does it or the time you spend on it take away from who you are. Life is a journey, yet we often choose the route the journey takes. If this is something like (silly example) building a ship in a bottle it can be energy and time consuming, yet gives a relief or short escape from some other stresses of life. In this way a project can be beneficial and refreshing. Yet, I get the feeling that your issue is more frustrating and the determination is simply because you do not want to quit.

Sometimes even the greatest chess players find it best to concede and take a challenge another time that can be more rewarding. Consider where it takes you and what it does to or for you. That could help you decide. :)
